Whilst I voted once a month and possibly more, many of those instances relate to questions in the forum about accessing the my.avast.com.

On a personal level, I have three system (all mine) on the my.avast.com account, as it is only me I haven't got to go as I'm aware of what is going on with my 3 systems. So I don't use it for monitoring other avast users (like family, etc.) linked to my account.

For those users looking out for the security welfare of other dependant users, it would be invaluable. If this Question/Poll is about getting rid of it 'like the remote access function' whilst not many used it (possibly the same as the my.avast.com account), but for those users it is invaluable.

Getting ride of features like this removes a unique feature/function that may well be keeping people using avast. If they go those that they seek to help are likely to go too.

I agree with David. It isn't something used daily but, there's information available through the my.avast.com
account that would be hard to find any place else.
I also hate to see useful things being removed without a better way made available to get what's offered by
this service.

I second DavidR's opinion. For me it is a few times in a month but not more that once a week.

I think the most valuable (and irreplaceable) feature of Avast Account is the ability of tracking / controlling mobile devices via web interface.
Especially in Japan, as SMS tracking command feature is not usable at all due to the SMS length limit by mobile service providers resulting in broken URL in response SMS. At least it was like that a few years ago.

Hello,

I use almost every day, to track the status of each device, specially when some malware was found (and the device owner didn't realized, or forget to tell me).

I think that the following features would be a great addition to my avast portal:

1- Whenever a detection takes place, an email alert could be submitted to the email of my avast owner account.
2- The device status could be updated in real time. No just once a day. Every update, every detection, etc, could be reported in the same instant to the avast account.
3- Be able to perform a remote control of devices within my avast portal. Example: Start a system scan, manage quarantine, start an update, add exclusions, etc.

Thanks for your time!

@  Tonanet
There is an email notification in AvastUI > Settings > General > Alerts - Send Via, see attached image.

That said for as long as I have been using Avast I have been unable to make this function work.

@DavidR

Hello! Thanks for your reply.

Indeed, I also never found out a way to make it works... Thats seems to be an old feature, available since the 4.8 version, wich was left behind.

Thanks!

You're welcome,

The feature hasn't been left behind, it's still there, but I have never managed to get it to work.  So I would have to wonder if avast could get it to work based on it being associated with the my.avast.com account.

Given this Poll, I have to wonder if the my.avast.com account is long for this earth or will it go the way of the remote access function.

Hello DavidR!

Sorry, I didnt express myself correctly when I said "Left behind".
I meant, it has not been updated in none of the last versions, so it seems that they left it as it was.

Sorry for my confusing english =-)

Thanks!

It tends to be slower loading if you try to connect with it from the AvastUI.  I haven't a problem when connecting directly from your browser.

I connected via the web and thought it was slow. (I'm also on the road so using hotel wifi not my home connection.)

This survey is the wrong place for this request, it is specifically about the my.avast.com account.

Also this function has been in avast for some considerable time (many, many years), not that I have ever managed to get it to work.

I have it working just fine in my Avast installs. You have to configure an SMTP server correctly for it to work. The main problem with that is it's not exactly something user friendly to do, and your ISP may block connections on port 25 and port 465 for spam reasons. Integrating it into My Avast might be a good option since then the user doesn't have to worry about the SMTP Relay.
