Yes it can, but upon reboot I am not sure if the on Access scanner launches again. However when you disable the scanner you do get this icon in the taskbar telling you it has been disabled, and it keeps popping up to alert you, so if you are using avast! for your complete antivirus solution then this could be a little annoying to you.
In fact, it will be boring... I wish it just alert you one time and will be happy as a non-resident scanner  8)

Why not use ClamWin ? it even works well in conjunction with Spyware Terminator  :)

Paramoid, NO
I also run Winpatrol and Windows defender. It's a bit annoying when I install something new
because bells and whistles go off all over the place but nothing ever ever changes on my system
without my knowledge and consent.  :) ;D :)

Has anyone tried Comodo's firewall? I've been using XP's since symantec took over Sygate.

XP's Firewall only protects your inbound traffic. It does nothing to protect
anything leaving your computer.

Hey bob,
yeah, I know Xp's firewall is VERY limited.  I loved Sygate and hated to stop using it. I tried Zonealarm twice and it messed up my system BAD. That's why I was hoping  someone had tried Comodo's.

Searching by the term COMODO would give a lot of hits in this forum. Here is one posted by me, quite old now to tell the truth, but still you can get a good picture about it.

Also if you have some time on your hands, it would be good to read the whole thread. There are some other good reviews some other forum members posted.
