Statistics is back
« on: August 26, 2017, 03:32:21 AM »
Hi guys :)

Comming back from the pub, and wondering why there was no Beta update, I see to my surprise that Statistics is back ( See 4 attached screenshots ).

No idea if this is only in the current Beta, or in last stable releases as well.
Also for paid users, you have to enable popup offers to see it :

Avast - Settings - General - Popups - And select "Show popup offers ... "

1.  I don't think this is the Statistics function back, but the 30 day report that was previously offered and was different to the detailed Statistics section.  I always declined the 30 day statistics report option as I feel it is more a selling opportunity than detailed statistical information; if you see all of those bits of click bait, 'Activate', 'Resolve Issues', 'All Secured' thanks to Avast SecureLine and 'Scan for hidden junk.

2.  That little 1/4 panel at the bottom of the UI has essentially been an ad/promo window. More so in the free version, why it is in the paid version I don't know, especially if the paid user has switched off ads.

Finally I haven't seen it in avast free 17.5.2303 regular release version on this win10 system, just one of the usual ads/promos in avast free.

I wouldn't call that statistics. Not what we used to get.
This requires that you allow Avast to send you notices (Popups) even in the paid version.
