AVAST & Ransomware
« on: August 30, 2017, 03:21:49 AM »
Can or does Avast business premium clean ransomware.
I have a laptop that was infected by "suplike" or .cesar ransomware. It found and cleaned "dins.exe" which, probably, the encryptor. However, it did not remove the three msha.exe nor the three services nor the startup entries. I do not know if there are other files/entries that should be cleaned.
Is the ransomware support an extra feature that I need to purchase or add?

Please read the FAQ, blogs etc on the website.
They are explaining everything.
And next time post in the correct forum > https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2.0

I read them, but will re-read them again in case I missed the answer to my question. My eyes are not what they used to be 20 years ago.

As for the correct forum, the product I have is "Avast for Business - Premium Endpoint Security" which I pay $2/month/device for. I believe that this is the correct forum for this product.

While I am not new to IT, I am new to Avast and this forum. I apologize if I violated its rules.

1. Well, Avast is designed to prevent RSW, not to clean it. However, see: https://www.avast.com/ransomware-decryption-tools
2. https://www.nomoreransom.org Good luck..!!
