« on: April 25, 2006, 02:50:50 PM »
New avast! definitions "617-1" detect my Firefox 2.0a1 (bon echo), winamp setpoint32 (keyboard)  that is infected with virus:

c:\program files (x86)\reproductores\winamp\winamp.exe
c:\program files (x86)\bon echo\firefox.exe
...

Win32:Polipos
Virus/Gusano

is the first time I have notice from this virus.
is false positive?

I'm afraid not. The detection was added today, but the virus has probably slipped previously to your computer and infected the files :(

I get a warning about win32 polipos infection. Not only on recent files but also on old files when the virus did not even exists.

Another false warning after an update from avast.

About two months ago i did also get an erro message about a virus from 6 years ago, next days i got ano other update from avast and all false warnings disapeared

It is not a false warning. When the virus gets activated, it infects also old files on disk...
