Sometime on desktop in tray appears the icon shown in sreenshot by red arrow. What is it and what for? Ref Win 7

Have you tried right clicking on it to see if any information is given.

Looks like SecureLine, do you have a license..?

Yes, I have. It seems to be inactive. In one case this icon was blinking with red color and after right clicking           I received a following notification "SecureLine VPN is not connected"

In your case maybe you need to click on Open SecureLine VPN and follow these directions



Make sure that something isn't unchecked that should be checked

If you can't reach SecureLine via the system tray,
Open it via the Avast User Interface.
