Avast boot time scan

I accidentally turned on the Avast boot time scan and I dont want to perform the scan . How can I skip it ? Do I press esc?

If you haven't rebooted your system already you only need to go back in (as if you were going to set it to run) and cancel it.

If it is already running the Esc. button should cancel it, that was what it did in the past and I think that message 'how to cancel the scan' is on the initial screen when the scan is running.
