Hi.You have a free version of avast antivirus so you can't disable it but if you buy their paid version you are able to stop this. :)
Are you using cleanup tool from avast? you can remove it from ui by customize installation of the product.

nope, not using the cleanup tool.

What you are seeing is effectively an Ad for the paid version of Avast Cleanup.

Whilst you might not be using it, that is different from having it installed.  It is a component of the avast free version, but it is effectively crippled, it can detect if you need junk or unnecessary programs, etc. removed. If you want them removed then it sends you to pay for the full paid version.

Ensure that you have the Cleanup component uninstalled not just not using it.  If you need a Cleanup function then I would suggest using free version of CCleaner from Piriform, now a part of Avast Software.

thanks guys for the help.

that said..who do I report avast's email system to? gmail says avast's email service has 'failed avast.com's required checks for authentication'. keeps landing in my spam folder regardless of me clicking the 'not spam' button.

Uncheck this option - AvastUI > Settings > General > Enable Avast email signature

Unfortunately it shows that what was at first might have been the email signature isn't the cause.

Considering you are also marking it as not spam in Gmail, yet that it is still being flagged as spam, sounds more an issue with Gmail.  This may well require more detailed information on exactly what is going on to try and pin anything down. Not knowing what you mean by 'avasts email service' what the email is about who it is from and to, etc.

If you want to continue this I would suggest that this goes in its own new topic and not with this unrelated topic 'subject.'

It's not only happening in gmail. Outlook .com also flaggs replies from forumaster @ avast.com as Spam.
I've already reported this to Avast but there hasn't been any fix or reply.
Right now all you can do is mark them as not spam or, create a filter.

@  Bob
That's why I was asking for more details as to where the emails were coming from as I don't get that problem. I don't have the forums send me notification emails of activity in topics I contributed to.

I just use the two options at the top of the page:
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

I do get the report emails and PMs I don't use my gmail account but BT email account and no issues there. However that said, I also first filter them through MailWasher Pro first and most get deleted at server level, so it is very rare that I actually get any of them.

Marking them as Not Spam doesn't seem to be working for xraiderv18.
