All right guys, the update is now officially released, so you can use usual methods (either download from our website, or invoking program update from within the program) to get it.

The version number is 4.7.826.

Hi guys,

in a couple of days (maybe even tomorrow), we'll be releasing a new update of avast home/pro that will solve the problems discussed on this forum during the last week.

Anyone who's having these problems is kindly asked to try out this pre-release version (that is more or less the same as the one that will be released officially).


How to install it:

• If avast is already installed on your machine: simply download and run the following program: http://files.avast.com/files/beta/aswbeta.exe and follow the on-screen instructions
• If avast is not yet installed: download and install it from the following location
  - Home Edition: http://www2.asw.cz/misc/4.7.822/setupeng.exe
  - Professional Edition: http://www2.asw.cz/misc/4.7.822/setupengpro.exe
  

Any comments are welcome.

Good. Program Settings... (and avast! Logs) now work fine.
Web Shield also doesn't generate those errors (in logs) anymore. Looks ok so far.

Hi,

I have tried to download the version of avast 4,7 indicated here above,
and get error message, like RCP error, operation cant not be completed and can not remove it in the control panel, removed/modified.

Also, could you please check if the "avast antivirus" service is started? Or if it's not, if it can be started manually?

And can i reinstalled an other setupeng.exe on top of what

or just run
C:\windows\system32\services.msc /s

Yes, you can. It will repair/update your installed version.

Ok, by reinstalling and other setupeng.exe, it did removed the other version. and I reinstalled my previous avast 4,6 for now, until the 4,7 gets ok, sourire.

But avast! is in my Program Files directory now, and I don't want to reboot only to reinstall it in its previous directory

antivirus is not a simple application... you MUST reboot after installation, otherwise, for sure you'll get trouble
