New update (4.7.826)

The new update is working for me.  Just want to say how quicky how the avast team work on it and got it fix and many thanks for the people who r evenglist team (with the 5 stars) who help the others in the forum with out there help too people would be helplist in the forum.  Many Thanks to all.  And keep up the good work in keeping us safe on the internet.

I spoke too soon: Internet Mail scanner is not working- "The provider is waiting for a subsystem to start."

If I click terminate then start it works ok!

All seven providers fully loaded here.  And actually I had no problems with this or older versions of avast! Seems I'm lucky guy!

Frank, this is definitely not an issue related to the new builds (there've been no changes to the mail provider since the initial 4.7 (4.7.817) release). However, you may check this thread: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=20661.0

This issue is still open to us, and we're looking into it.

That is really drastic if needed Frank, and i can sure understand your troubles. Should not have happened.
With me I updated to the first 4.7 version, no problems, as usual. Then I updated to the not the latest version, but 4.7.826, again no problems.
I will wait a bit and update more

Still running 4.7.817 because I lucked out and stopped the autoupdate to 4.7.826 before it occurred.  I had just that morning read about the problems with the 4.7.826 program on the forum. 

Is it safe to do the 4.7.827 program update now?  I don't believe I have any of the system scenarios mentioned you folks think caused problems.  If safe to update now, can I just do the update through the program GUI Program Update option, or are you recommending 4.7.817 users uninstall with aswclear.exe first?

You should be able to go straight to the latest version with no problem now.  I did a straight over the top install no problem

Is it still working? Could you elaborate on the "registry cleanup"? How did you do this (i.e., any reg cleaners or did you do it it manually)? Were you able to identify the offending settings in the registry?

I just checked again and the Internet Mail provider is not running after a reboot.

It's obviously some sort of intermittent bug.

That's what I saw. However, when I changed the service type to Automatic instead of Manual, it started working correctly and consistently ( so far!). You might want to try that.

I'm still curious as to how you cleaned the registry and how "safe" it is to do so.
