Guys, there's a couple of threads about this already. Please don't start your own.

Here's what you need to know: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=20854.msg174626#msg174626

Thanks

I have returned to AVG until I get an answer to all this.

Hi. Yes I do use XPHome. After clicking on 'properties' on the Avast folder' I see no sign of 'proprietary' or 'security' link :(

There is no Security Tab in the folder Properties unless your Drive/Partition is in NTFS format so I don't know how the folder is locked if you have FAT32 as your format method.  If your drive/partition is in NTFS format you should see a Security Tab along with the 3 in the image (I still use FAT32).
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Not fully true. There's no security tab even on NTFS if "Simple File Sharing" is enabled in WinXP. (So, the solution is to turn Simple File Sharing off - the tab reappears.)

Hi  :)

I don't mean to but in, I don't think XP Home allows you to disable Simple File Sharing. I think you can in safe mode.
