Avast is affecting my ping in games.

I have to play my online games with avast turned off because with it I have around 150 ping, and with it off I always have around 60-80 ping. Why is it doing that?

Does turning the Gaming Mode help ?
Avast Settings > Components > Scroll down to Gaming Mode and turn it off
