after the last update (version 17.7.2314 build 17.7.366.0) most insolently ignores exceptions, and every 5 minutes it deletes the file, the directory with which it is registered in all exceptions - global, behavior, file.

Hello,welcome i have a question,
Has the new Avast edition increased performance? Avast has hit me so much lately, but I have a huge fondness for this anti-virus, I use it with breaks from version 4.7.

Thnx Team :)

The Driver Updater came as a surprise for me, as it was not in the Beta.

I can install it from : Avast - Performance - Driver Updater.
But not from : Avast - Settings - Components - Performance.

Hello!
My site was hacked.
After that, Avast blocked requests to the site.
Now all malicious code from the site has been deleted.
How to remove a site from the list of threats Avast?

Hello, there

I was using both AVAST (17.6 ver.) and the Nox App Player (5.1.0 ver.) program.

However, after the AVAST program is updated to version 17.7, the Nox App Player will not run.

It stops at 99% loading, and eventually reverts to Windows error screen.

The latest version of Nox App Player is version 5.2.0, so I installed it, but the problem is the same.

I've also set up the compatibility mode, and I've also Run as administrator.

Again, before version 17.7 I used both programs.

When I run the Nox App Player, it stops at 99% loading, and finally the program closes and the above screen pops up. Then it reboots.

after the last update (version 17.7.2314 build 17.7.366.0) most insolently ignores exceptions...

More than that... This update rejected all of the adjusted settings of fine-tuning...AGAIN!!!

This symptom happens over and over again for the last few years.
Avast Team think they are the smartest, and are ignoring personal settings.
There is realy a reason for some software to keep it running, and setting it to exeptions.
Also other important changements in the settings are ignored and reset after updates.

The least Avast can do is OR keeping the settings as they are set by the user... OR ASK to choose "keeping" or "reset" settings.

As I stated last year... Avast acts as malware itself.
It makes changements to settings and marks perfect software as malware even if it has been tested before.
Avast ignores exceptions giving extra problems and time-loss to normal users to adjust the settings again and again.
Avast even ignores it if "automatic program-updates" are NOT WANTED... they just do it anyway.
In may opinion... ignoring and resetting user-settings is always a malware-practice.
If this "can" happen, then the user should always be warned "before".
Not all users are stupid and have a very good reason to certain setting-changes.
Avast-Team... respect that!

Why the settings are overwritten has been explained.
Also explained is that you should export the settings before updating.

I've updated  one of 3 of my systems avast pro to the latest version and although I have a choice whether to add additional features like "Driver update" I think that is pretty dumb on avast part.

What on earth driver update has to do with malware detection, protecting from any intrusive code getting into your system that's the only purpose of this software should be  >:(

I have only 4 shields protecting my system, that's all I need, but the fact that I have this stupid driver update/promotion popup coming up  from time to time it's not something I sign up for neither ever will use.

As I said, I'm always on the fence and borderline  before my subscription renewal "Renew or not renew" and if things go the way they do and avast keep adding crapware to their software, software that once was light and  the purpose was obviously protection I might end up choosing something else, it might not be  as "Good" is avast that good anyways..not really, but I will go with something strictly what is design for and much lighter, avast slowly becomes big fat bloatware  >:(

Concerning "you should export the settings before updating..."

I know that, but... personal settings are set to "NO program-updates"... to avoid that (and other problems).
At a certain "unknown moment" Avast decides to do a full program-update... or micro-updates by itself.
It is impossible to export before updating, as the update-moment is not decided nor known in advance by the user.

At that point, settings are changed/reset "without" any notice.
After then, an automatic scan finds virusses which are "false positives"... which were excluded here years before!!!
This causes users to correct this problem over and over again...

Avast always gives this same problems, time after time... update after update, for the last few years.
They are never learning I believe.

They could give a waring as "Update ready to install"... "Choose to RESET or KEEP your personal settings".
Personal settings have a reason, and should at least be respected and not be overwritten by default.
Certainly not by an unwanted and unexpected update... which you only see "after" it happened.

Its realy time for Avast to "think"...

Only if there are any "new" settings, then those "could" be pré-set... or asked for wanted setting.
Existing settings should always be kept as set by the user(admin), and only be changed when this user(admin) allows that.

Even if the user keeps backups of settings, it is still anoying that those disappear and have to be reset manually.
In between, the scan with false positives already happened with all concerning consequences to repair.
This is so annoying, and so much loss of time.

This is mearly a problem as some of my PC's are not used at home but by students at university far away... and I am not always there.
AV-software should protect them, and not giving monthy sabotage of our equipment.
This situations give more problems and consequenses than they avoid.
Avast is comming to a point of giving more problems than eventualy catching a virus.

If I make a change in my settings, I save the settings.
After an update, I import the last saved settings.
Your scenario with students far away, sounds like a business model not the home version of Avast.
Maybe your students need to learn to save and import their own settings ???
