Can old virus chest be deleted, and if yes, how?
« on: October 04, 2017, 09:18:05 PM »
Windows 10 pro, 1703, 15063-632.
Just updated my free Avast to 17.7.2314 thru the GUI, everything went well. In the old version I had two files in the virus chest, which could not be deleted by the procedure supplied by Avast; so I thought I let them stay. Now, the new version happily announces that "your virus chest is empty!" - but I still have the C:\$AV_ASW\$VAULT\vault.db file (315KB). Can I delete it? Should I delete it? if yes, how to give myself permission to do so?
Thanks for the help

Learn how to use Windows and delete it.

Take owneship of the folder, use a live medium, emove the protection first etc.
Take your pick.
