Keeps saying expired
« on: October 05, 2017, 03:45:19 PM »
I have been using Avast Free for some time. This year it said it expired. I went through the steps to renew FREE and it says OK and then tomorrow it says expired and I have to go though it all again. It wants me to upgrade to paid version.

Action requested:
1. How do I renew the free for sure.
2. How do I stop the non-stop solicitation for upgrade?

Thank you

John

Please (re)search before posting.
The licensing system has changed, you do not need to do anything at all anymore.
Just perform a clean installation of the latest version.

Registration is history, see: https://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus

If registration truly is history then Avast need to stop this misleading message in the existing versions were registration clearly isn't history, then fix this bug(ging) the user.

If it keeps bugging the user to register by saying it has expired  or there has to be an underlying reason and possibly one that the OP mentions Avast wanting them to upgrade rather than simply re-register for the free version.
