Bad start with Cleanup
« on: October 09, 2017, 03:39:22 PM »
I installed and ran this yesterday.

1.   After running the PC will no longer restart. I have to power off with the switch
2.   Your product disabled Microsoft click-to-run. This stops MS apps from running
3.   I’ve had one instance of the task bar no longer popping up when required.
4.   Why does the program consider my downloaded files to be ‘junk’?
5.   I can’t say I’ve noticed any improvement in performance at all.

I'm not at all impressed by the new support model either.

2) Click to run is slowing down things, so yes it must be disabled and no it will not prevent applications from running.

4) It depends where you put them and what settings there are in CleanUp

5) There will be a little performance, but the question is always if you notice it or not.
e.g. 100km/h is slower than 100,05km/h, but you likely will not notice the difference although there sure is.

But as I've said many times, there is no "cleanup" tool that does anything you can't do already yourself.
I.m.o. they are all a waste of money (if you have to pay for them)

Click to run is most definitely required to run MS Office apps - well certainly Excel which would not start until I manually re-enabled and started the service. Befores that I tries repair teh installation but that failed and reported that it failed becaise that service was disable.

I do agree that it's a waste of money though and I won't be buying it.

as for these images of letters I can hardly read them at all

Just one more post with a captcha.
It is only there the three posts to help keeping spammers away. ;)

Click to run is not needed on my new phone and never was on the PC when I had the ms office things on it.
Could be it has changed.
