Lack of immediate registration
« on: October 19, 2017, 12:21:37 AM »
Since one of Avast's more recent program updates, I am no longer able to register right away after installing the program. I now have to inform my clients that they will have to register in 30 days when the temporary registration expires. This creates more work for me and my clientele. This is truly one of the biggest idiotic blunders in the software's history.

Please, PLEASE, PUHLEEEEEEASE fix this so that I can register the program right away as I was ALWAYS able to do beforehand.

It may not be needed anymore, but the GUI is suggesting otherwise. It's still showing like you have to. I don't get it why you guys didn't change it to let users know this has changed if they click it and eventually you'd remove the message as well. But now, it just looks exactly the same as it did before and people think they need to register. Hell, I'm a lot around here and even I got the info late...

Then all references to registration/re-registration need to be removed, this just confuses the user when this is thrown up.  All we can do in the forums is say 'registration is no longer needed' but the user still has to put up with the reminders until it eventually registers itself.

There are lots of topics relating to this and some users even think it is a ploy to get them to purchase a paid version because are unable to register the free version.

Currently it's being used to sell the paid version that makes things even more confusing for the average user.
