I get the exact same messages. And the strange thing is that it is apps downloaded from the Appstore...
Apps that Avast keep saying is infected is:

The Unarchiver
Photos Duplicate Cleaner

Both downloaded from Appstore

Has Avast screwed whit an update??

It shouls be fixed now - just update VPS on your Mac. Thanks for report!

Anyway  according to Avast policy apps from TuneUpMyMac company (e.g. Photos Duplicate Cleaner) is marked as PUP.

I'm getting the same repeated "infection blocked!" pop ups regarding TuneUpMyMac-k [PUP], which started a couple of days ago. I removed all vestiges of this program, and still get the pop ups over and over. And I my Avast Security VPS is up to date.  Any more advice?

I am also having this issue - only this week, like everyone else.

TuneUpMyMac-K shows up, but I don't have that program.

On my iMac it required a restart after the VPS update to make the problem go away.

You need to differentiate your policy.
Photos Duplicate Cleaner is an app from Systweak. Systweak is parent company of TuneUpMyMac. TuneUpMyMac may well be trouble an marked as PUP.
But apps from Systweak downloaded from Apples App Store should not be PUP
There are at least 14 apps from Systweak at the moment in the App Store .

Our policy is correct - Photos Duplicate Cleaner offers direct link to installation TuneUpMyMac - so its PUP as well. I dont't care about AppStore.
Please try update again and check if there is another incorrect (!) report of TuneUpMyMac.
Thanks.

I don't know but i've been told... Sorry to raise this stupid question, but how do you know that you have indeed removed all the vestiges of this stupid program? It is a really stupid app in an upside down way, it is like a cancer, it attaches itself to every part of your device

I mean, ensure it is off indeed, use this guide http://macsecurity.net/view/161/, for instance, especially do not hesitate entering password to Move to Trash the mfcng TuneUp.
