mail protection problem
« on: October 23, 2017, 11:51:53 AM »
I have installed the latest version of Avast Free Antivirus on my windows 10 machine.
If I use the component "mail protection" my thunderbird client can't receive or send email(if I unistall or turn off it, then I can use my client properly).
I've tried  to export the certificate then install it in thunderbird without any results.
How can I use the extension of avast with thunerdbird ?
Thank you in advance.

Does this help:
https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/Troubleshoot-invalid-email-certificate

I have already exported the certificate from avast and imported in thunderbird but I still have the problem.

Guess you'll need to wait for someone that actually uses Thunderbird to offer additional help.

Hi giasco!

What do you mean by "my thunderbird client can't receive or send email" - do you see any error message?

Could you please enable debug logging (open avast ui > settings > general > maintenance > logs), reboot computer, reproduce the issue with thunderbird and send me mail.log file located in c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\ folder?

Thanks in advance,
HK

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any other security software (firewall) installed along with avast? If yes, please try to create the rule to enable avast in/out connection.

Thanks,
HK

It was a firewall of another software.
Now with the rule to enable avast I have no problem with the e-mail.

Thank you.
