Really Bad IP Address
« on: November 01, 2017, 11:27:10 AM »
I tried using the free 7 day trial of your VPN.  I turned it on, and then I checked the IP address at iknowwhatyoudownload.com.  Your VPN gave me the IP address of someone who distributes child pornograpy!  Do you have any idea how much trouble you can get me into?  How could you allow for this?

Dax5, all the VPN services cannot control what your costumers access, download and other things. In many cases, the costumer only uses for Torrents because they have some restrictions (country or by ISP) and the VPN service is their workaround.
Avast does not stores any logs about what you're doing while connected to Secureline VPN.

If you have any trouble with this IP, which is shared (between every costumers) and is not free from any cases like this (or other cases), just change the server and get a new IP address. You can reconnect to this server and will get another IP address as well.

If you want a fresh "new" IP address (which does not have "issues" like this ou other issues), i suggest you to get a dedicated IP VPN service.
But this feature is not offered by Avast for now.

I was only testing the VPN to see if it worked.  Can I get into trouble for this?
