Forum Error
« on: May 06, 2006, 04:02:33 PM »
I just tried to post a quote that a forum member had posted previously and got a error>>

An Error Has Occurred!
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

I have no trouble posting my own message in standard or "quick reply" but, as soon as I try to insert a "quote" it gives me that error. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks,

In order to use the quote, you have to click on the quote inside the original post of the post you want to quote.
That should open up a reply window just as it did this one when I clicked on quote inside of your post.

Hope that helps,

bob,

Thank you for replying. Yes, it works in the way you described but, if I select to reply to a thread and scroll to the bottom of the "reply" window I would see the previous posts of others that resonded to the thread... it gives the option to "insert quote" in the "previous posts" boxes. When I click on that it gives the error. Why would my Session Verification fail by just opting to insert a users quote? I'm confused, I was thinking that it's a glitch or something.

As you can see from this post, It's working fine but I'm using an IE based browser. Don't know what you are using and
don't know if thats the reason for your problem.

I just tried it in both Opera and FireFox and also had no problems using the quote from any of the messages
below the reply window.
So it's not a forum problem.

Okay, I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.3. It must be my PC or something, thanks for your replies.

Just FYI.. to post the quote in this post I used the "quote" from the user's post on the "thread page" not the "reply page". I am still having the error on the "reply page". I didn't want you to think that I am posting fake help "Q's".

Well for me both using the Quote in the post or Reply button, the Insert Quote in the list of posts below the text input window works fine, also using firefox 1.5.0.3, so I can't imagine what is causing your problem.

See images, before and after insert quote from the list of posts.

Well, I found what the problem was. It was my own lack of thought lol, I didn't have Firefox set to allow avast!'s forum cookies. I feel mindless right about now. Thanks for replying.

Its a big club and you aren't the first and you certainly won't be the last member. However, letting us know what the problem was is likely to help others in the future.
