Updates? Is there even a good version right now?
« on: November 08, 2017, 07:54:51 PM »
This morning, I noticed that my "Update" button in CloudCare is grayed out.  On my way to post this, I happened to see the Avast announcement "Upgrades Disabled for Avast Business CloudCare" (http://community.cloudcare.avg.com/announcement/19-upgrades-disabled-for-avast-business-cloudcare/).  I'm guessing this is why my "Update" button is gone (although it just disappeared this morning on 11/8/17, even though the announcement was released on 11/6/17).  Does anyone at Avast know how long updates are likely to be disabled?

On a related note, is there a "good" version of the Avast Business CloudCare client?  I have most clients updated to 4.02 but still a few on 4.0.0 and 4.0.1.  I've also intentionally kept a few on the AVG 3.6.4 client due to the fact the AVG > Avast client change started happening without warning and without documentation.  Also, when we got the new Avast client, there were so many obvious flaws with it that I couldn't believe it had been released at all, much less pushed as a normal update.  I'm trying to keep the faith and avoid the process of switching to something else but, at this rate, I'm not sure how much longer we can hold out.  I can't imagine I'm the only client that feels this way.  Can anyone at Avast speak to the larger issue of the totality of problems that have come from this "upgrade" and what is actually being done to pull out of this nosedive?

Thanks

Sorry to hear you are having troubles.

Rather than leave your post unanswered I thought I would suggest you try the parent forum https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=77.0 or http://community.cloudcare.avg.com/

Honestly I don't know what client the CloudCare product uses, but this forum has traditionally been for Avast for Business Cloud that currently uses a 17.x versioned client.  So it's probably not the same thing as you are talking about.  That is unless Avast are suddenly going to be giving 17.x clients a new version number scheme ;)

The Avast/AVG product merger is a mess.  Looking on the website I can't even figure out what product I am using anymore as the names are very similar with a lot of cross-product features being the same.  So I'm sorry I can't direct your concerns better.  Hopefully an Avast guru is watching and can help.

Good luck :)

Hi AnotherUser,

That's right, the Avast CloudCare Update button has been disabled (grayed out) as a temporary measure so that upgrades from the AVG Antivirus to Avast Antivirus have been put on hold. We don't have an ETA on when the Update button will be back, this will be based on our follow up maintenance releases to resolve some of the issues that we have. You can stay up to date on our release schedule here: http://community.cloudcare.avg.com/topic/2555-post-cloudcare-40-bugs/ we have the latest information on the releases that we are working on.

If you already have CloudCare client version 4.0.0 or 4.0.1, we will be pushing out upgrades from those version to 4.0.2 (latest client version that many bugs were fixed), you can find out more here: http://community.cloudcare.avg.com/topic/2651-scheduled-upgrade-from-40x-to-402-13th-november/

Client version 4.0.2 release notes can be found here: http://community.cloudcare.avg.com/topic/2644-avast-business-cloudcare-402-release/

4.0.2 is the latest client release for CloudCare. We are working on the next maintenance releases to resolve as many issues that have been identified. We are always updating the Post CloudCare bugs thread on the CloudCare community forum with the latest information and progress of items we are working on.

Regards,

Sean

How much longer are these updates going to be disabled?  Updates have been disabled for over a month now.

I've tried to read the links posted by "Avast CloudCare" but I get a message stating, "Sorry, there is a problem

If I click the "Existing User?  Sign In." button, I can sign in and it immediately takes me to my "Avast Business CloudCare" console with all my devices.  Is there some other login I'm supposed to be using?  I'm obviously "signed in" as I'm able to post this reply on the forum.
