MSN Messenger? Just make sure you have Instant Messaging Shield provider installed and you're done.

Well using the Instant Messenger provider should cover anything downloaded by MSN IM.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Thanks to both BUT
If I click on TOOLS>OPTIONS>FILETRANSFER(In MSN) I am given the option of naming the file that would intercept any virus. Are you saying that I can leave that entry BLANK and as long as I have the SHIELD set properly It will block any virus
I sure appreciate all your help
Thanks

You are already protected but you can name the entry

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe

anyway. Some additional protection won't hurt you anyway.
