Avast is Black Screen
« on: November 17, 2017, 03:13:56 PM »
I have the latest version of Avast installed on Windows XP Pro and for some reason after typing in my password the Avast page is black screen I can't see ANYTHING, I can get into Avast by clicking on the Icon on the bottom toolbar but this only allows me to update the program and have access to the shields control settings silent mode Virus chest etc but I cannot run a scan or check Network update programs etc.

I have tried all sorts but cannot seem to find the issue if anyone can please help I would very much appreciate it, I have even tried going into "Add remove programs" and running the repair program AND deleting Avast and reinstalling but just end up with the same issue.

I have Malwarebytes anti Malware installed which I've run several times and found no problems and now I've just installed Windows Defender which is currently running to see if that finds anything .. other than that I'm stumped.

So nobody has a clue how to put this right eh and there was me thinking this being an Avast user forum at least "some" of you might know more than me when it comes to fixing broken programs which appears not to be the case, looks like I'm asking in the wrong place.

+1 I often get the "Avast screen is black" issue. Currently only way to fix is to reboot which is ofc extremely annoying. For the record I pay for Avast and even got the Omni device.

My info:
- Windows 10 x64 20H2 19042.1348
- RAM: 16GB
- CPU: Intel i5-6400 2.7GHz
- Video: NVidia GTX 160 6GB

Really hope someone finds/posts a fix for this asap.
