Avast SafeZone uninstall command line switch
« on: December 01, 2017, 12:05:36 PM »
Problem: Avast SafeZone not shown in Add/Remove programs, there is no Avast SafeZone browser shown in Avast setup
Solution:
  • go to C:\Program Files\Avast SafeZone\version number\
  • create a desktop shortcut for installer.exe
  • Right click on created shortcut, select Properties, click on Shortcut tab
  • under Target add /uninstall at the end
  • click OK and start the shortcut, the uninstall option is now shown

A note for Avast: give us SafeZone cleanup tool like you did with Avast Antivirus.

Thank you.

A few years ago I changed to Norton, today I try to change to Trend Micro. Safe Zone still on there? Avast want to charge me $155 to "troubleshoot" the issue, since their clean up tool they provided after I called them doesn't work.

How disgraceful.

Hello, My zombie install of SafeZone has 7 versions of Opera, in the Temp folder and 3 folders with numbered versions of the SafeZone browser in them along with 2 installers for safezone-windows-release-i386 and safezone-windows-release-vista-i386, that's 12 installers with all the associated files, a combined 1.32Gb of files. Which of these installers do I need to run to get rid of all of it? Or will I need to run all of them? If so which order do I choose to run them in? Thank you for any help.

SUCCESS! Whatever I did, or more likely someone else did with a cleanup after an update, has now deleted all of the unwanted software, entire Avast folder on C-drive now down to 1.04Mb, and SZBrowser to 870 bytes from 1.32Gb, a result. Thank you for your help.

I did this, but the SZBrowser folder still exists. What can I do further?
