Safari not opening in High Sierra if Avast is open
« on: December 07, 2017, 07:56:25 PM »
If Avast is open on my MacBook Pro 2011 using High Sierra 10.13.2 and APFS, iCloud.com will not open. If I close Avast it opens without any problem. This works just fine in Firefox and Chrome. This is repeatable.

Hi Paul253,
this one should be fixed in release 13.0. If you are with older release, please go to - Preferences > Updates > and click the 2nd Update Now button (Program).
Quality is also a feature.

Did as you asked. Upgraded to Avast 13.3. Still will not open iCloud.com in Safari. It will open in all other browsers. High Sierra 10.13.2. Avast Version 13.3.

Hello,
unfortunately the new iteration of HighSierra broke our fix of this issue yet again.

Please run the terminal app and in it run the two following commands:

sudo sh -c "echo '*.icloud.com https' >> /Library/Application\ Support/Avast/config/com.avast.proxy.excl"
sudo killall -hup com.avast.proxy

Please note that it will prompt you for a password. After that, restart Safari and all should be fine.

We are really sorry for this, we will fix this ASAP, but this should help in the meantime.
Kind regards,
Ondrej Kolacek
