Undetected [trj] and [rtk] files

Had a problem yesterday where 'something' was using all of my bandwidth. I ran a boot scan and 6 files were detected with either [rtk] or [trj] noted. These were moved and now the laptop is functioning as it should but my question is why did I not get any warning from the system?  Shouldn't something happen to either stop the virus or warn me that a virus has been found while I am using the laptop so that I know to do a full scan straight away....or am I missing something? I thought the Pro version would attempt to stop this happening.

Real time protection monitor evrything that goes on in your computer when on
Most likely you found dormant files, detection may have been added after they arrived on your computer

It can also be False Positives ?
