VPS updates as far as protection goes, are simply consolidations of the streaming updates.
What's the big deal about how quickly you receive them ???
As long as you're on-line, you are constantly being updated via streaming updates.

Whilst I'm not overly concerned with the timely receipt of VPS updates, the whole point it that they should work and it isn't working.  If it isn't working it needs fixed, regardless.  Also don't lose sight of the fact in these same VPS updated, micro fixes and engine updates can also take place.

Worse for me is the fact that avast housekeeping seems you die also in my win10 system with the latest avast free release (not beta).
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

My remark strictly addressed the protection aspect and the importance of the VPS updates. Nothing more. :)
