 >:(  I'm not a happy chappy.  I was wanting to start Smart Scan so when I clicked to run the Smart Scan a box came up with a request requiring a password to continue.  Now, I'm somewhat confused, because I don't believe I ever used a password for Avast, however, I believe this appeared after an auto update.  So getting frustrated with this AVAST FREE ANTI VIRUS I thought, bugger it, I'll delete this bloody program but no...  I can't even do that.   It requires a bloody password which is really annoying as I feel this program is holding my control to ransom.  To me, that's not right.  So, the question is, how do I get around this confounded problem.

This most likely related to password protecting avast it has nothing to do with avast passwords component
try follow this guide to remove password protection on your installation
