Try here for virus definitions---

https://www.techspot.com/downloads/2108-avast-virus-definitions-update.html

I had problems updating for a while & used the info there to keep my defs. updated.
I sent a message to---

https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/33/

Their Support Tool.

They never responded but a little later Avast Premier started updating itself & connecting again.
I think they did something in the background & never told me about it.
See my original thread---

https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=211918.msg1436731#msg1436731

As of today---1/7/2018 it is still working.

The image won't display so to see it go to---

Contact the guy in my thread that helped me.  :)

I suggest you install Malwarebytes free or paid.
I got paid.

https://www.malwarebytes.com/

It found 91 threats that Avast Premium failed to find.
It has no conflicts with an anti-virus program like Avast.
They can run at the same time. :)
Not run scans at the same time.!

Just a thought. :)

And what threats was that?

PUP is not threat = Possible Unwanted Program
Do you have avast PUP detection turned on?

Yes for PUPS---

I examined the 91 results & found they were bad with Google.
I removed them.
Avast failed to detect them.
Plain & simple.
The things it detcted & I removed were NOT PUPS.
But Malware.
I can't provide a screenshot since I removed them.
Why would I lie about something like this unless YOU work for Avast & want to defend it from negative comments ??????

Did i say you lied?

I asked what was detected and if you have turned avast PUP detection on, not Malwarebytes

you find it in Malwarebytes log  >>  https://www.malwarebytes.com/support/guides/mb/

What are PUP detections, are they threats, and should you delete them?

No anti-virus has 100% detection but I doubt Avast failed to detect 81 malware samples unless they were old MS-DOS variants (if you exclude PUA and PUMs).

Is it possible if you attach the Malwarebytes log scan to show which infections were detected?

Evangelist and Uberevangelist do not work for Avast.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Avast Free (latest stable version) •  Malwarebytes 4 Premium (On-Demand) • Windows Firewall Control • Google Chrome • LastPass • CCleaner • O&O ShutUp10 •
