Using 3/4 of memory

Avast v17.8.2318, windows 10, 16gb memory

On the first startup of the day, Avast uses 3/4 of my memory and stops everything else from working. The only way to stop it is to restart the computer. Only happens on the first startup of the day, very annoying.

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.
