just got avast internet security and it keeps going down
« on: December 17, 2017, 09:12:10 AM »
Hi, i did the trial for 25 days and everything was fine and paid for a year today and it keeps going down, reinstalled one time, uninstalled ccleaner and it is still happening, it automatically goes down when i run a scan and goes down by itself some also

i read some of the old posts but i was wondering if this has been happening to anyone this month and if there is an easy fix

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)..!!
-> https://support.avast.com/article/11/

Then:
1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

i am using avast internet security 64 bit

windows 10 64 bit

i don't know what sp/build means
<snip>

SP = Service Pack - windows 10 hasn't any service packs as yet, it appears that they use version numbers.

Build = Build number - Each win10 major program update is also assigned a build number.
You can find it by clicking the Windows icon (bottom left of your screen) and type winver - this will display a window giving the Program Version and Build number.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
