Exclusion Folders seem to reset after Avast Update
« on: December 21, 2017, 02:43:41 AM »
We have a legacy database, which if avast scans the folder upsets the licencing of the system by changing some attribute of the licence file.  Anyway, I set the folder to be excluded from avast scan and all is well until avast does an update in which the excluded folders are removed from the exclusion list.  Any advice would be appreciated

Hello alan229,

if an update would erase the list of file or folder exclusions,
i am interested in Your environment:
0) You talk about program update not normal virus data base updates, right?
1) You use Avast Business (Antivirus)?
2) If so, the managed solution?
3) If there is central management > these exclusions are set in the Management Console,
so local settings are not overwritten/deleted on synchronizing the configuration settings?

This problem does NOT seem to be related any update done by avast.  I am using Avast Business Security (Free) installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server standalone.  After entering the Exclusion folders and clicking OK, the settings are there.  Couple of days later come back to check and they are gone!
