The UI interface being super slow to load in icons when first open up the main windows is still happen.. 5 months later

This version is bad joke. 17.8 was good but this is like unfinished beta with no benefits over previous version. I still have feeling you must release one new version per month for some reason. What about work on new version longer time and prefer quality over quantity? Still missing statistics btw.

There are some bugs:

1.Outlook 2010: Mail shield no longer scan inserted files to mail ("Scan attachment when attaching" enabled). It scan and block this attachment after i hit send button (Version 17.8 and earlier blocks file immediately). Probalby bug or new feature?

2.Smart scan no longer scan for sensitive data and compatibilty issues even those are checked in options.

3.Self defence not working? In previous version, if i used CCleaner registry cleaner for search problems, it creates some track on selfdef.log (blocked access to Avast registry keys). But now is selfdef.log empty.

4.Full system scan uses only one CPU core.

5.Second AvastUI.exe which is launched after long time from PC start causes minimalize all opened Full screen programs like Games, video players etc.

So i am not sure if i am still protected or not because there are too much bugs.

All tested on 2 independent systems with the same behaviour.  Both Win 7 64 bit, Avast Free clean install.

I'm waiting for an explanation from Avast team. Thank you.

Just updated here via the GUI. It looks like it's working normally, except one thing.
It's just here that the Avast icon in the task bar doesn't move anymore when it's scanning something? It's still checked in settings to animate, but it looks like it doesn't work anymore.

They broke it with very first beta release. We've reported it the same day. They never bothered to fix it despite complaining about it every single bloody beta version during the test cycle. I just can't even...

So now we have a Beta and a Final version with the same version#
It's OK for things to be broken in the Beta version.
It isn't OK in the Final version.

I received a notice that an update was ready to download. I executed it everything was ok until I used the new cleanup app within the program. I followed the instructions and it did its thing. It restarted and I logged back in to my computer. I went to my passwords to log into another account I had. I hit the website and a loading circle came up and just keep going. I was unable to connect to the web page. I called avast and got nowhere. They were rude at the support center and told me I had to pay them to fix the problem. I explained to them I didn't cause the problem you did. I asked them to just undo the update and I'll start over. I just need my passwords to work that's all. Could you please help

I now have two versions of AvastUI.exe running at all times and a third one if I open the application, it used to only be one all the time and two if I opened the application is something causing this second one?

Edit: So I see you mentioned it as a thing now and say it's okay, but why is it okay?  Why does it need to be split off into two processes?

Yeah another poster mentioned that it may suddenly pop up to the center of the screen as a blank page, that seems alarming.

GUI will be faster in January, Quick scan can be configured in custom scans. We selected the most used Scans that are Smart Scan (that is quick) and Full system scan (that is slow but detailed)

Smart Scan is most used because Avast made it the only scan available on the main screen. If I wanted another scan, say Full Scan, on the main screen, I can't change it.

This is like having elections, having only one candidate, and then proclaim that most votes went to that candidate. Well duh.

this version seems better and fix the prev 17.8 problems,
windows defender security center now show the avast status,
streaming seems to be normal now
