Of course, but i need to know why time to time appear popup thank you for installing avast, select version and etc.

It appears to happen periodically and is usually followed by an offer for the Avast Internet Security version.

However, I have only seen it once when my avast free was coming up to 12 days before auto renewal.

I have more then 150 days, also dont undestand why is Free version limited by days.

As I said 'Periodically' and that is based on what I have seen in some forum posts, so this could be well outside of the normal annual renewal or if there happens to have been a program update, etc.

As an avast user I can't say more than that about exactly when/why this happens.  What I can say is of my own personal experience and that occurred close to what would be the annual renewal.  However, on that subject Avast have said 'Registration' is history, yet there still appears to be this annual bun fight about renewal/re-registration when this was supposed to have ended.

That said you should be able to ignore this and when that period expires, it should continue to protect your system and automatically renew.  Why this is done this way I don't know.

We only live here, we aren't the landlord. :)
Any further explanations need to come from Avast. (The landlord.)

I'm running this (Build 17.9.3761.278) paid-for Internet Security version non W7 Ultimate, and suddenly Avast has started falling over frequently. One moment the error is "The Avast Service is not responding", and the next it's the "UI failed to load" falling over problem.

I've done this:-
1) repaired it via Programs (twice)
2) made sure that the Remote Desktop Service is automatic and running
3) removed the whole of Avast per the instructions contained in "Troubleshooting when Avast Antivirus components no longer work properly"
4) restarted umpteen times

Yet this continues to happen.

ALSO, I have another laptop in the house, running the same paid for Internet Security version, and which, like my machine, has not had any problems before. Yet this other machine is showing exactly the same errors. Apart from being connected via the same router wirelessly, these machines have nothing else in common bar this failing version of Avast.

In other words, Avast has gone from being a reliable product to a real PITA, which I've paid good money for. What's going on?

The system Error Log is full of Service Control errors for Avast, and I haven't installed any new programs, either.

Follow instructions: https://support.avast.com/article/33/

Thanks. I've run this tool, and no errors were reported. I  have uploaded  the report to Avast.

I will next check the other laptop machine and see what happens.

You're welcome.
No errors on other machine, but it's just fallen over on my desktop again.

I've been reviewing my system information, and the only thing that has changed (on both machines) at the same time as this problem has arisen yesterday is an update of Vivaldi browser to 1.14 - 41.

Is there any connection between chrome elements and Avast that may be affected? I also have Google Chrome on here, and Firefox, but haven't used G. Chrome for a while as I prefer Vivaldi. I could just use Firefox and see if problem arises, if there is a chrome connection.

I will run the diagnostic whilst Avast is showing an error. I guess you don't need screen shots of the Avast error and thos in the System Error log, but let me know if you do, please.

Avast crashes when Vivaldi is NOT running. If the Support diagnostic is run when Avast is in a crashed state, it detects that the service isn't running and restarts it. So no useful results from that experiment.

This is now crashing on average about every 10 minutes or so.

In Services the avastsvc.exe shows as "running", in Resource Monitor it shows as "Stopped". This is the first batch of this problem I have had since buying and installing Internet Security in July last year, but I'm not sure that I can put up with another 6 months or so of this.

I have combed through the forums and all other sources of information, and it seems this is a long-standing problem, for which no explanation has been given. As I explained in earlier posts, I have followed all the clean-up, service enabling and reinstallation suggestions, to no avail.

Another question regarding this.

Obviously a fresh installation puts the whole thing back to "Square One" state, with the added need to dig out and re-enter registration code for the paid edition. Also, settings are all lost. Therefore, it it possible to save settings (using that feature) prior to uninstalling Avast, and then reload them to the fresh installation?

Hello, I'm new here and I come to report a problem that has been going on for months, the CAvastTrayICon icon does not leave my taskbar, I installed and uninstalled several times and it does not change anything. I'd like some help.
