Avast Queuing for Updates Too Often!
« on: December 26, 2017, 04:25:55 AM »
As the subject line says, Avast queues for updates far too often, and I think there are certain triggers for that process that should be supressed. What I mean by that is it seems that everytime I launch a new program, or game, Avast checks for an update, which drastically increases the amount of time it takes for a particular program/game to load. I know this is the case because after an unusually slow load of a program, I alt-tab out and check the Update tab in Settings, and I see that Avast checked for an update at the same time I tried to load that program/game.
This behavior needs to stop. Checking for updates at regular intervals is fine, but checking everytime a new program is launched is not.

Avast updates every few minutes (stream updates), that's normal.
If you don't need/want it, you can disable it in the update settings.
