Blank Window
« on: December 28, 2017, 07:54:26 PM »
Hello,

Since last update I have blank window popping up on every reboot:

It happens at least once after every reboot.
I'm using free version 17.9

Anyone knows how to get rid of that and find out what it is about?

Thanks.

Is this what you're using???

If not, try an update. If you are using this version,
follow this:

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204

If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

My Avast has the same problem, and I have downgraded back to version-17.8.

Have you blocked AvastUI from accessing the internet?
Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Avast Free (latest stable version) •  Malwarebytes 4 Premium (On-Demand) • Windows Firewall Control • Google Chrome • LastPass • CCleaner • O&O ShutUp10 •

Yes, its the same version. And I tried that, doesn't help...

@Alikhan
My firewall is setup to block everything except specific applications on specific ports.
AvastUI process doesn't have an internet access since it doesn't need it.

Blocking AvastUI is the cause of your issue. You will get blank screens if access to it is blocked. This behaviour was introduced in v17.9.

Why does the UI need internet access? To serve ads? Wouldn't explain why the  rest of the interface won't show.

Its not the adds. It happens in other Avast versions as well from what I read.
