This bug has persisted thru numerous updates of the software.
I work at a Computer shop and this has persisted thru numerous installs of numerous versions of Avast.

Go to Settings / Components:
Select a component to uninstall.
Confirm removal.

Window will not show progress of the uninstall, it keeps going to the top of the components list.
Only way to check progress is to keep trying to scroll down until the uninstall finishes and it lets you scroll down.

This is a known bug which will be fixed when the settings UI is moved to CEF.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Avast Free (latest stable version) •  Malwarebytes 4 Premium (On-Demand) • Windows Firewall Control • Google Chrome • LastPass • CCleaner • O&O ShutUp10 •

"...will be fixed when the settings UI is moved to CEF."

OK, Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't tell me much:
I'm not familiar with CEF.
Will settings be moved to CEF with a software update,
-or is that likely to be a next major version upgrade type thing?

Is there any kind of predicted timeline for this?

It won't be anytime soon since it is not a major issue.

When it is fixed it will be done through a program update - there's no ETA.

"program update"?

how big of update required for the change?
Is it a 17.xx.XXXX minor upgrade
or a 17.XX.xxxx medium upgrade
or a 18.xx.xxxx Next major build type of thing?

Sorry to be so annoying,
but this has been a daily thing for a long time.
