KB4056892 (meltodwn & spectre) update issue
« on: January 07, 2018, 12:19:49 AM »
Has anyone with older AMD cpus experienced any issues with 2018-1 cumulative update? In my case, after installing the update and rebooting the PC, the system seems to break and won't start again.

Just wanted to know, since I can't seem to find any news related to this problem online :)

Today, KB4056894 was offered in WU as important update, but unchecked. I hid that update.
I think I'll wait for awhile. I'm not in a hurry.

i have been Studding the effects of the meltdown plage that has been happenig to compurtes. its not behaving like a virus ,worm or a malware. the  way its affecting the systems is acting like a bacteria in its targeting of systems. what is being targeted is memory storage and the computing power of a computer. most of thies locations are used in crypto mining to generate keys. hard drives are being targed for ther storage of data, the cpu is targed for the memory that is on bord , and ram is to negated the cleaning of one or the other . the thing is that what we are faceing is not just one program but 3

I'm glad that people are starting to acknowledge this problem.

Athlons might be old, but they sure aren't bad. They can still perform everyday tasks without any problem, and for people on tight budgets, this is a great convenience.

No, I couldn't, for my machine refused talking to me! But since this morning 2:45 it's working again!  :)

Hi =Snake=,

As reported there will be firmware updates towards the end of this month with all major chip producers.

Vital then is at that time to do not have power trouble, when the electricity goes off the mains during a firm-update,
you are in big trouble and you normally can say good-bye to your device.

But that doesn't concern AMD. They did nothing, only silence is present.
