Hi,

After every service start (for example after PC starts) Avast tries to download license from server and looks for changes in it.
Avast waits some time for the internet connection and if connection is not available then it gives up and postpones the license check. (After a specific interval, after next service start, etc)

so I think zony you have a different issue, than bob3160 thinks,
zony, can you please use https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/33/ to collect your logs and send them to me to (jiri.samanek@avast.com) so I can go through them and try to find out whats wrong in your case?

Thanks,
Regards,
Jiri Samanek

Hi,Jiří Šamánek

Hi zony,

Thanks for the logs.
I went through them and to me it seems like you installed avast without internet connection which resulted in this:
1) Avast couldn't download newest config file, which tells the application to connect to our new licensing server
so your current configuration uses old licensing server, but couldn't connect to it anyway, so there is actually no license present on your pc
After the installation avast tried to download new config+license again, but couldn't because there was no internet connection
If you restart your PC in this state you will see expiration message (there is no valid license file on your pc)
so this is the technical background, the fix is pretty easy:
1) Either install avast with internet connection enabled - new config and new free license will be downloaded from our servers and since then it does not matter if you are offline or online - in both cases, you will have valid license present on your disk
2) or just enable internet connection and avast should download newest config and migrate itself from old licensing server to the new one and everything should be fine from there (but this might take some time - there are some time intervals specified so our servers are not spammed with these kind of requests)

I hope this helps,
please get back to me if you have any more questions/problems
Regards,
Jiri Samanek

Hi,Jiri Samanek
Thank you very much for your technical assistance. I have been experiencing this problem for several months.
I always install a new system, and then install the security software offline, until these are completed, will be networking, it is more secure.
So, I always install the complete offline installation package. Now that you tell me the latest beta, the full offline installation package does not contain the latest configuration file, so can not connect to the new authorization server. In this regard, I am confused.
Before, I tested many versions, including: ver 17.7.3660.0,17.8.2318,17.9.2322,18.1.3769,It is now well established that ver 17.7.3660.0, the older version, is doing the best in authorizing administration. It is also because of its good performance, I can be sure, the problem is not in my network service providers and computers. Now ver18.1.3769 also performed better than the previous two versions, which makes me very happy, I believe the next version will be better.
Believe: Next offline install version, can contain the latest configuration files, including the latest license server address, the perfect solution to the problem of authorization failure encountered offline installation.
Thank you very much for your security software and your work.
