Windows 10 Pro Task Scheduler--Avast Emergency update missing
« on: January 12, 2018, 05:04:28 PM »
Hi All

Windows 10 Pro x64 16299.192
Avast 17.9.2322  17.9.3761.278

Problem:  Looked in my Task Scheduler, and some reason I don't see Avast Emergency update in there at all,  so perhaps why I had so much trouble getting the Meltdown Patch for my Intel I7 Desktop that was released on January 3rd/4th 2018

I have tried repair install, up to a clean install, but still not listed there, any advice would be appreciated, I can manually recreate entry if need be
Windows 10 Pro 64bit 1909 18363.476, Intel I7 7700 Nvidia Geforce 1050 16gb DDR4, WD 250GBSSD, 1tb Storage, Avast Free 19.8.2393
HP Omen Laptop Intel I7 7700HQ, 8gb Of Ram Windows 10 Home x64 1909 18363.476 128GB SSD, 1tb Storage, Avast Free 19.8.2393

I'm not sure if this isn't a hidden Task Schedule in win10, I can see it in my XP System.

I have the registry entry, that said I ran the AvEmUpdate.exe as Administrator and also did a manual program update (which should also run the EM Update) and rebooted.

Edit: Typo.

Yeah I had the registry entry for the Meltdown Patch, ended up installing via the Windows Update Catalog,  yeah guess could be a hidden task, not really sure on that aspect, but I guess all is fine possibly
