New Windows install, need my passwords back
« on: January 13, 2018, 03:33:27 PM »
I was using AVAST Passwords to store my passwords, and used it to generate logins to some sites.
It was working fine. But yersterday my Win 7 has crashed after the recent updates. I could not do anything, could not log in to save browser data, important files, etc.
I had to reinstall Win7.
Now, as I have reinstalled my Windows and my Avast program, I was able to log into my Avast account without a problem, I have reinstalled the browser extensions as well.
But now I can not log in to websites, where previously AVAST created the passwords for me. The LOCK icon at the username/passwords field does not show up, in the AVAST Passwords tab of my AVAST these sites does not show up.

How can I get back my passwords that AVAST was keeping safe for me?
I have not found any useful tips on the FAQ page.

If you have had synchronziation enabled then you have backup of your passwords and it can be restored. If you haven't enabled synchronization before reinstall then most likely your passwords has been deleted during the process of Windows reinstall. Did you do clean install of Windows 7 or you have used the option with keeping user files?
