Anti-Malware program updates and "Meltdown" fixes

You may have seen announcements regarding the "Meltdown" and "Spectre" flaws in CPU chip hardware. Microsoft is pushing out OS kernel updates to address this already. However, as I understand it, the updates can't be applied until third-party anti-malware products update their code and insert a registry key to indicate that they have done so.

Aside from the wisdom of installing the MS patches on servers or VM hypervisors (which is questionable), I would like to hear from avast! regarding their plans to address this.

I don't have them to hand, plus the forum search function isn't great, the search term has to be very accurate, but at the same time not too complex as it throws up topics that aren't really related.  I generally use the advanced search.

A search on 'Spectre' and or 'Meltdown' is more likely to prove more fruitful another option is to go to the Forum listings and scroll down to see the more recent topics.

Thanks for the link. That helps, somewhat, but the message refers to Windows 10. We are running Win 7 here so if the answer would be different for that OS, please let me know.

However:

When I view the first page of messages in this forum, (Avast WEBforum>Avast Products>Avast For Business>Avast Endpoint Protection) the message subject "Intel Bug Meltdown/Spectre Win 10 Update - Contact your Anti-Virus AV to confirm" does not appear. The list is sorted with the most recent message at the top. The top five messages in that list are:

Is avast endpoint client compatible with Windows Server 2016? last post December 29, 2017

If I do CTRL+[refresh button] in Firefox version 52.1.1 ESR (which should wipe out the cache for the page and give me the most recent version) I get the same results. By comparison, CTRL+[refresh button] does change what's displayed in another website (AskWoody.com) that commonly requires a manual refresh.

So what's going on here then?
