Nice new features. But the requirments are way more then what Microsoft says. I'm goi ng to enjoy the new glass feature  ;)

But the Password requirment too opening some programs will be a problem that hopefully Microsoft will look in to change abit.

This is I believe only likely to get worse as some have mentioned this could be more annoying than clippy/puppy in MS Word, but in this case you can't kill the puppy ;D This is supposedly designed to combat malware running programs.

I'm running Windows Vista Beta 2 (actually i'm typing from it using Opera 9 :) ).
Latest avast! Home Edition is working like a charm on it too!

Man, this OS rox. Aero Glass runs super smooth on my 6600GT and memory consumption is not much greater than with Windows XP Pro.
X-Fi is also playing music just fine using X-Fi Vista beta drivers.
There are still certain feature missing but in general everything is working 1A.

It works like a charm on my end too !

Not even single driver was incompatible, Vista's automatic upgrade engine downloaded everything without requiring me to do any action on my end. The only one that wasn't working properly was SoundBlaster Live! (Gold) but that's because that card is quite old now. Anyway, I found some third party drivers (NGO Creative Modded Driver SB Live! and Audigy) and they work just perfectly!

Everything is unbelievable smooth, all effects (visual bells and whistles) are enabled for testing purposes and it is unbelievable how nice everything looks. I am so happy and pleased to see how IE7 does its job. Perfect! Such an fast browser with all those little add-ons, it already ate Firefox alive. Can't wait for Vista goes Gold... just can't.

I am happy to see that Microsoft worked really hard on this one. If anyone developed anything ever in his/her life, they will know how hard is to keep everything under control... especially while developing such a complex thing as OS is. It is unbelievable how many things you have to make work one with another without interfering with each other. Vista Beta 1 was all buggy, but that is normal... it was first stage and that release wasn't even for public, so I have no clue why people even wasted our time crying and bitching about it all over the internet, but I guess we will always have those mama's boys around. MS fixed all those problems and little issues in this one, and that's a normal way. Once it is like that, application/program/OS goes out in public as Beta 2. So, we've got our Beta 2.

So, I am happy to say that Vista Beta 2 works as it should work.

Few screenshots I made yesterday (click on each thumbnail to see larger picture and once it's open, click it again to see full size image... note: full size images are rather large, 1280x1024 pixels):

Oh yeah... almost forgot... avast! works as a charm with Vista, but the only problem I could find was you are unable to update program and virus definitions by accessing those options from system tray. You get a note from avast! that these functions are not supported yet. But you can update everything through GUI without any problems.

Cheers !

Hahaha, it's gonna be war...

It would be really nice if just we can get rid of all these security hogs. Our systems already became fortresses, we don't have anough resources left for some other stuff... we really need to "clean" up our systems from this stuff and pay more attention to how these computers can be used in more creative way. Many would be pleasantly surprised how their systems came back to life all of a sudden. Many already forgot how fast their system can really start if just there is no antivirus or firewall installed. Hmm... maybe sound like an utopia-land...  ::)

This is something to consider. This quote is something I took notice of. I assume that anyone looking to download this program would also have read this: "In addition, once you install Windows Vista Beta 2 (or RC1) you cannot roll back to the previous operating system installation—you will either have to acquire and install the final released edition of Windows Vista or reinstall a previous edition of Windows."

This is something for anyone to consider.  :)
This information is once again located HERE.

Take an Image or make a full backup of your system before installing Vista.
It's the smart thing to do.
