Avast won't run
« on: May 26, 2006, 03:15:39 PM »
Avast won't run, won't uninstall, won't repair. I've tried downloading the latest version and I just get it to do anything. Any ideas guys? All I get is a message: The application failed to initialise properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application. The applications in question are ashavast.exe and ashdisp.exe.

Hi StefDerner...

Just to clarify, did you try using the uninstall utility found here:

0xc0000005 means access denied.
Are you using the Administrator account?
How many accounts have admin rights in your computer?
Which avast version are you trying to install/uninstall?
