win32:hoax alarm
« on: May 31, 2006, 07:47:38 AM »
After updating my avast database and installing a windows media I now get a constant alarm (2 every 15 mins)from the avast on-line scanner in this directory.

trojan or malaware .....it says win32:hoax alarm

c:\windows\system32\1024

and I put this in the exclusions on avast and it did nothing.

This is really annoying . What do i do and I have run avast and adaware

Hi jagguy,

You need to download this tool and use as instructed on the page:

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php

Follow this with a scan with Ewido anti-malware scanner:
