Win7 hangs on aswbidsha.sys
« on: January 22, 2018, 02:00:14 AM »
I've got an old computer, gateway apx 2008, Windows 7which has issues booting up; it hangs on aswbidsha.sys

This started about February  2017 and I haven't  addressed it since that time  since I  was able to get by with my work laptop.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks,

Iso Synch

Since you're currently using an old version, I suggest you do a Clean Install of Avast:

Thanks for the response. I can't even get into the windows gui. What's the best way to resolve this; can you please point me to a resource as to possible options?  I can get to safe mode, then as it loads the various drivers, it stops right after aswbidsha.sys gets loaded, it appears frozen
Thanks,
Iso synch

If this were my system, I'd back up my personal files and than do a clean install of the OS.
