Hi everyone. I hope this message finds you all well. I just set up an Acer Aspire A114-31-C014 14-inch Laptop ( https://www.acer.com/ac/en/AU/content/model/NX.SHXSA.006 ) running Windows 10s. I managed to load Avast Antivirus using the Windows Store but then received a message saying 'for security and performance windows 10s only runs verified apps' like in the attached pic. The Avast Antivirus has loaded but it appears not to be the full version nor does it work. The Avast Security Centre (see 2nd pic attached) states I need to install the full free antivirus to use it in real time. I managed to download the program but it does not allow me to run it! Looking through various forums I now think that Windows is the problem and not Avast. Can anyone help with what to do or clarify a fix please?

Windows 10 S isn't designed to run 3rd party programs.

Thank you for your reply Bob. It would have been great if the sales person explained this to me! Too late! I bought the laptop as a spare to use for minor internet surfing etc anyway. I have since found out I can upgrade it to Windows 10 for an additional cost but then that defeats me picking it up as cheap as I did. I believe Avast is working with MS to make it available through the Windows Store.
