Perhaps this is a stupid question but I have Avast Pro, can my wife share it on her new laptop? Or do I have to pay twice even though it is same household.

It depends on how many licenses you bought. If it's single PC then you can only use it on 1 PC. If you bought 2 PC license, then you can.
