It has been this way for some considerable time, despite many bug reports about it.  I can't understand why this has been ignored by Avast for so damn long.

Surely this can't beyond the collective whit of the Avast developers !!!

Lets put it this way, they haven't communicated anything about this.

Similar to the Quick Scan, nothing was said when all of a sudden it was removed, then the complaints started, then there was a period of saying it was removed. This stuffed up those who had it scheduled to run and there was no way to change settings.

Now by all accounts the Quick Scan is possibly coming back.  But that too was said about the Statistics, being revised and would make a return, that was well over a year ago and no show.

Avast really have to get their act together.

The latest version should have the Quick Scan option within the Custom Scan option.

Regarding the tray icon animation, I've just bumped it up on Slack considering it was first reported on the 25th November. The last reply from Avast was a month ago when they said a fix was "in progress".

That is good to hear, but by god it took some time.

I have stopped beta testing (so I didn't see it there) and I currently haven't updated to the latest 18.1.2326 version. I have taken to holding back on program updates, especially when they introduce new features.

It may have been reported on Slack on the 25th November 2017, but it had been reported in 'the Avast Support Forums' before that, I just find it hard to believe that something this this could take so long to resolve.

It's really a sin because sometimes it's the small details that make the differences and the satisfaction of their users (satisfaction is a factor not to be overlooked).
Of course we must be grateful to Avast for the great growth of its detection and protection capacity.

Probably he\she is Italian. In Italy we say "è un peccato" (literally it's a sin), meaning "it's a shame".  ;D
